ABOUT US
A NEW POLITICAL DIRECTION
Reform Nova Scotia is a conservative, reform-minded organization working to advance a better political direction for our province.
Â
Affordability, housing, healthcare, education, public safety, taxation, economic growth and public trust are closely connected. They cannot be properly addressed through isolated announcements or short-term political decisions.
Â
Addressing them requires clear principles, practical experience and a willingness to examine how government decisions affect the province as a whole.
Â
Reform Nova Scotia brings people, experience and ideas together to develop practical proposals and advocate for a better long-term direction for our province.

WHY WE EXIST
Nova Scotians work hard, contribute to their communities and pay heavily for government. They should be able to expect affordable living, functioning public services, safe communities and institutions they can trust.

Instead, government continues to become larger, more expensive and less accountable while many people feel increasingly unrepresented by the political choices available to them.
The established parties may change leaders, candidates and campaign promises, but the province continues along the same general path.

Reform Nova Scotia exists to offer a credible alternative grounded in responsible government, individual freedom, strong families, safe communities, economic opportunity, respect for our culture and practical results.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING
Nova Scotians work hard, contribute to their communities and pay heavily for government. They should be able to expect affordable living, functioning public services, safe communities and institutions they can trust.
Â
Instead, government continues to become larger, more expensive and less accountable while many people feel that their concerns are not adequately represented in public debate or government decision-making. Leaders and promises may change, but the province continues along the same general path.
Â
Reform Nova Scotia exists to give those Nova Scotians a stronger voice and advance responsible government, individual freedom, strong families, safe communities, economic opportunity, respect for our culture and practical results.

BUILT FROM THE BOTTOM UP
Reform Nova Scotia is being built openly and from the ground up, beginning with a clear direction and constructing the organization around it.
Â
Our principles provide the foundation. Detailed priorities and policy proposals will be developed through research, informed discussion and the practical experience of people who understand the issues and their consequences.
Â
We are not looking for universal agreement or one person with every answer. We are building a broad and disciplined organization of Nova Scotians who recognize the same problems, share a general outlook and are prepared to work constructively.
Â
A durable organization cannot be built around one person or one moment. It must be supported by the people, structure and purpose required to endure.

WHY "REFORM"?
Reform doesn’t mean returning Nova Scotia to a particular year or pretending the past was perfect.
It means restoring the things a healthy province depends upon: responsible government, public accountability, affordable living, safe communities, economic opportunity, functioning institutions and confidence in the future.
It means protecting what works, repairing what doesn’t and building what the next generation will need.

THE NEXT MILESTONE
Reform Nova Scotia is building the organizational foundation required to become a serious and effective voice in public policy and government decision-making.
Â
That work includes establishing sound governance and administration, developing research and communications capacity and building relationships with Nova Scotians throughout the province.
Â
This website provides a public home where people can understand our direction, follow the organization’s development and become involved.
Â
The next milestone is to turn that direction into a functioning organization capable of developing practical proposals, explaining them clearly and advocating for them at every level of government.
Â
Where Reform Nova Scotia ultimately leads, including whether it becomes a registered political party, will depend on the people who become involved, the capacity we build and the most effective way to advance our principles.
